This file is a convenience mirror of the licence portion of the canonical policy page. It exists so that the licensing regime of this site is legible directly from the repository, without rendering HTML. Tier definitions, site-level invariants, co-author courtesy, embargo handling, governance limitations, and contact details live only on the canonical page.

## Content regimes

The site declares four distinct regimes. The repository's existing [`LICENSE`](./LICENSE) (MIT) continues to govern **code only**.

## Scope boundaries

- **Third-party content** (publisher-typeset articles, figures originating elsewhere) is governed by the rights of the originating work — not by any regime above. No such content is mirrored on this site. See invariant INV 01 on the canonical policy page.
- **Figures are evaluated panel by panel.** A document-level licence does not automatically clear embedded third-party material. See invariant INV 02.
- **Permission is not obligation.** A paper whose licence *permits* Tier A hosting may still be hosted at Tier C for editorial restraint. See invariant INV 04.
